occasion of his birthday.

GANGULY also known as DADA (it means elder brother in the Bengali language.)
He was born
on 8th July 1972 and also affectionately known as “Prince of Bengal”.
He made his international debut on the tour of West Indies which was held on 11
Jan 1992.
He was
called for the post of captaincy in the year 2000.He is also known as the best
captain and player India has ever produced.
But do you
know the reason why he is known as the best captain in India?
REASONS WHY
GANGULY IS NAMED AS BEST CAPTAIN
1- Under his
captaincy India won 18 matches out of 36 at home
2- Under his
captaincy India reached the Champions trophy finals in the year 2002
3- Under his
captaincy India reached finals of the world cup 2003
4- He also holds
the record of most winnings in ODI from 2000-2005
5- He is the
most successful test captain by winning
11 out of 28 matches played overseas

player to have 4 consecutive man of the match awards in One Day Internationals

to score 3 centuries in ICC Champions Trophy

CAREER AFTER
RETIREMENT
After his
retirement from International Cricket in the year 2008, he decided to play IPL
(INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE) and was also assigned as the captain of KOLKATA KNIGHT
RIDERS
After playing
4 years in IPL he took retirement from IPL and was seen hosting a Bangla show.
In 2018 he
also launched his autobiographical book named (A CENTURY IS NOT ENOUGH).
IN 2019 he was
appointed as a advisor of DELHI CAPITALS.
NOW FORMALLY
HE IS SERVING AS A PRESIDENT OF BCCI (Board of Cricket Council in India).
